The Righteous Indignation Project

A JEWISH CALL FOR JUSTICE

Righteous Indignation-Chicago and JCUA host Vice Presidential Debate Watch Party

Over thirty young Jews came together Thursday night to watch the only Vice Presidential debates in 2008.

Hosted by Righteous Indignation Chicago and the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs Associate Division, the notion of “kitchen table politics” was the theme of the night.

Partygoers feasted on a potluck dinner, dipped apples into honey to celebrate the New Year 5769, and enjoyed a lively discussion following the most watched Vice Presidential debates in election history.

2008 will definitely be remembered not as a year when Jewish young people stood idly by and were disengaged from the political process, but when they were actively involved and organized around important issues related to social justice and Jewish values.

Thursday night’s event was only a preview to the upcoming 2nd Presidential Debate Watch Party this Tuesday, Oct. 7th in Chicago, sponsored by AJWS-AVODAH, Righteous Indignation, and JCUA. Over 1,000 Jewish young people in six cities will gather to watch the debates and many will continue to weigh in on perhaps the most important vote of their lifetimes.
